Greetings metalheads!
As you might have heard, we are currently working on material for our next album. We will not release any information about it just yet, but we are of course curious to hear what our Marauders expect from this album.
You want it heavier? Faster? Slower? "Enough with the post-apocalyptic shit already, Mad Max sucks"? Who knows, maybe your ideas will inspire us to do something we didn't think of ourselves!
Discuss freely here, and we will drop in to see what you're thinking...
Hail, kill... and die!

More good old heavy metal, like Roadkill, or Sentinel Hill.

Considering how the fans are referred to as Marauders, I think the Post-Apocalyptic theme is becoming a staple of Steelwing.
HOWEVER, there are MANY ways to interpret a post-apocalyptic world. You have the classic Mad Max scenario which we all love, wearing leather and spikes and fighting each other on muscle cars. You also have the more common nuclear fallout world where everyone is trying to avoid radiation. Other scenarios could be apocalypse after an alien invasion, general degradation of society, a plague outbreak, and the good old biblical armageddon.
In terms of sound, I am happy with the latest album. More harmonized solos would be nice. I really liked the synthesizer used in the 2097 track.
In general, keep it awesome!

Same mix of fast & more calm songs... with such killer riffs and great melodic chorus we can sing !!!! I clearly prefer fast songs, but i agree that to much speed kill speed, so mid tempo are ok ! The only song i don't like so much is Breathless... If you stay in same line first albums, it sounds all good for me !!! Good work

Your latest album is awesome!! Since you visited Aaltjesrock in Harderwijk this cd hasn't left my cd player. Even my girlfriend who is a designated old school hardrock fan and some early Black Metal likes it. Each time in my car she listens to Breathless. Your futuristic themes on the songs speaks very to my imagination and top 40 killers like Full Speed Ahead and Zone of Alienation keep ringing in my head. It is nice to hear such a good goodfeel band after so many years. This sound was absolutely missing in the genre. I invite you to go on with it. If I van do anithing to promote you in the Netherlands, just let me know........
See you at the 14th of June

I'm not a fan of cheesy metal-ballads (for some exceptions), so either once again a half-ballad/close to AOR song like Breathless or an acoustic song are things I could live with. And though there are a lot of rather fast songs, I'd love to hear some real high-speed, voice-torturing breaker like Riot did on their self-titled song from their last album again .

Soundwise: Keep it fast and ass-kicking yet epic...just like Tokkotai
The concept is great, no change please. One or two new 80s-movie-themed-songs as well, I can so much identify with these. Well and maybe another WWII-aviation one.
heavy writing!

Keep doing what you guys are doing. The first time I heard 'Lord of the Wasteland' album, I got the same feeling as I did the first time I listened to Iron Maiden when I was a kid. Dunno if you guys are big in to doing cover songs but it'd be neat to hear you guys cover something from Mad Max's Stormchild album. www.metal-archives.com/albums/Mad_Max/Stormchild/36492

I wouldn't mind the album being titled "#3". Maybe also non-apocalyptic-future stuff like brave-new-worldish or 1984ish dystopia stuff. "#3" could be referring to cloning e.g. A world that seems to be paradise, but only due to strong laws and restrictions. In this world a group of marauders gather to destroy the system. About the music I really don't know what to tell you. Basically stick to your guns. As I like the faster, slower, shorter and longer songs, I'd say a good mix of everything will be best. ...as long as you get things together as good, as on your previous records. Have fun and be creative!

I'd really second that idea, it has some great potential. And speaking of cover songs, I don't know how much influence they have been for you or if you even like them, but just listening to the album, Free Man by Angel Witch would fit perfectly to a concept like the one Scavenger2 suggested - and it would be something pretty different yet very traditional metal...
